Global Report: Our Say in Our Health
What People with Intellectual Disabilities and their Supporters Say About Health Access Around the World.

About this report.
The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global report on health equity for persons with disabilities shows that people with disabilities die earlier, have poorer health, and experience more limitations in everyday functioning than others.
We wanted to learn more about the experiences of people with intellectual disabilities.
Our global consultation.
Down Syndrome International and Humanity & Inclusion are working together to learn about health equity for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.
In 2024, we asked people around the world about their health. We spoke to people with disabilities, families, and support workers.
Our global consultation gave individuals and families a voice. Now we are sharing the results of this consultation.
We have written a report (see ‘Full report’), an ‘Accessible summary’, and a ‘Social media toolkit’ that you can use to help us raise awareness of the key results.

Inclusive health
Everyone has the right to good healthcare. This means no one should be treated unfairly because of who they are.
People with Down syndrome do not always get the healthcare they need. This is not fair.
