Ana, tell us about your design.
“My sock design is about emotions.
Sometimes I like to paint to feel free and to get things out of my head and feel better.
On my socks I drew different emotions as if they were comic strips.
I drew everyday emotions because you can have many emotions in one day and they are different.”
What is your job?
“I work as an ordinance officer in an immigration office. We help people from other countries who come to Spain to get their papers in order, look for work, and meet up with their families. I work scanning documents, organising people’s files and running errands.
I am also an illustrator and sometimes do commissioned illustrations for people who like my drawings.”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“In my free time, I like drawing. In the afternoons I go to classes at an art school in Cuenca; I also like to go to see exhibitions, especially drawings and comics.
I love to see new places, travel and be at home quietly. I also really enjoy going out to eat sushi with friends.”
If you could send a message to the world what would it be?
“Unload what you have in your head by drawing, even if you don’t know how. Free yourself!
We all have art, in art there are no barriers.
People with disabilities, even if some things are more difficult for us, can learn a lot. We all have our time to learn.
It is also very important to have friends who help you and you help them.
Friends are a treasure.”
