Conference of States Parties

Conference of States Parties

Let's talk about the rights of people with disabilities.

What is the Conference of States Parties?

The Conference of States Parties is a gathering organised by the United Nations.

It is a meeting where different groups come together to talk about how to respect and protect the rights of people with disabilities.

An easy-to-read explainer.

Inclusion International has made an easy-to-read fact sheet about this event:

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

At this event, representatives from different countries talk about what they are doing to help people with disabilities in their country.

They talk about the rules they must follow. These rules are from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

What we are doing?

At the Conference of States Parties we help people with Down syndrome to speak up about their rights.

They talk about the barriers they face in their lives and what needs to change.

They tell leaders what is being done well and what can be done better.

The approaches we use in this project:

Developing and sharing evidence.

Empowering people to speak up.

Supporting organisations.

Building and leading partnerships

Coordinating advocacy.
